The OSHA 10-Hour Training program is intended to provide a variety of instruction on General Industry safety and health topics for both entry-level and experienced workers. This training offered by USITT has been customized to focus on issues that are important for the Live Entertainment industry.
Subjects to be addressed will include:
Introduction to OSHA
Electrical Safety
Aerial Work Platforms
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Walking and Working Surfaces
Emergency Action Plans
Hazard Communication
Fall Protection
Noise & Hearing Conservation
If possible, Local OSHA Consultation Service representatives will lead portions of this workshop, and we hope to include a tour of a nearby performance facility in order to help familiarize participants with OSHA inspection procedures.

Course Instruction:
David C. Glowacki, Production Manager & Assistant General Manager for the Performing Arts Center at Kent State-Tuscarawas, in New Philadelphia, Ohio. He served USITT as the Safety & Health Commissioner from 2011-2017, and is currently serving as USITT Liaison to the OSHA Alliance Program and as the Associate Editor of Safety & Health for TD&T. In 2006, Dave completed USITT-sponsored training to become an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer, a credential he has successfully renewed in 2010, 2014, and 2018. In 2008 he became a licensed Aerial Work Platform Safety instructor. Dave is a regular presenter at USITT National and Regional events, and is serving on the Board of the USITT-Ohio Valley Section as a Member-At-Large.
