The presenters will speak about themes from their new book, Stage Management Theory as a Guide to Practice: Cultivating a Creative Approach. As expressed in the introduction, “throughout the years, our discussions and debates around stage management methodology have been a through-line in our relationship". This book reflects our identities at this point in our lives: mid-career women—one Black, and one White—who are educators and stage managers, spouses, parents, and leaders in our field. We will speak about our focus on anti-racist stage management education and the practices outlined in the HowlRound Essay we published in July.
